Rio 2016 (Part-6)

So it has been nearly two years. How are you guys? Sorry I couldn’t continue.  Paralympic Games at Rio 2016 was absolutely amazing and busy. Did not get the time to continue with sharing my experience here. Closing ceremony for Paralympic Games happened on 19th September 2016 and my scheduled return flight was on 21st September 2016. So I just had only couple of days to explore one of my most favorite cities “Rio e Janeior”.

Lot happened from September 2016 till date. Left my previous job and joined with a Financial Institution (will share my journey soon) and went to Taipei, Tawan for joining The 2017 Summer Universiade, the XXIX Summer Universiade, commonly known as the Taipei 2017 Universiade (Will share my experience soon) for a month. Life has not been perfect but Alhamdulillah for everything.

Praia de Botafogo
So as mentioned in my previous writing we have decided to explore several places in Rio in between Olympic & Paralympic. “Escadaria Selarón” was the first in the list.

Argentine Counselor General Office at Rio
We have decided not to visit Sao Paulo rather go to Argentina. Next day we went to Argentine Consulate Office in Rio to try and find out the procedure to obtain a visa. Upon arriving at the Consulate Office we have obtained a list of documents that we need to provide for obtaining Argentine visa and the list was really big and there were some documents that were unavailable. Most importantly waiting time for obtaining a visa for us was nearly 15 days as such we decided not to give it a try.

Praia de Botafogo
As we still had few more days to kill we were thinking to visit at least another state of Brazil. However did not have unlimited budget so we needed to plan carefully.

Copacabana Beach
As mentioned earlier I made a list of places that I wanted to visit and Foz do Iguaçu was in the list. As our dream to visit Sao Paulo and Argentina seems impossible we decided to find out more about Foz do Iguaçu waterfall. We tried and find out the fare for both plane and bus. Going there by bus seems cheaper but very inconvenient.

Praia de Botafogo
Gol Transportes Aéreos is the Brazil’s budget airlines and we decided to check their prices. We went to their office and find out that it is within our budget so we purchased the return tickets.

Copacabana Beach
However we still have few more days before we fly to Iguaçu. We were excited but did not want to miss the opportunity to explore the city of Color……
